The Life of Irene Sendler
Irene Sendler was a catholic women who created a organization to help rescue Jewish children in Warsaw. Irene was a health care worker and between 1942- 1943 she smuggled children to safe hiding places and some children were even adopted by non-Jewish families. She helped save about 2,500 children out of the Warsaw ghetto. After being arrested, tortured, and sentenced to death by the Gestapo, her work was interrupted. She was saved at the last minute because a zegoto bribed a German officer and she escaped. Later at the age of 98 in 2008 she passed away.
I feel that Irene slander was a hugh help in the war. She helped about 2,500 children escape in Warsaw. Even though her name in unknown she still helped save save people that would have been killed.
